Nepalese Festival Displays Persian Art A collection of works by Iranian artist Hojjat Amani was showcased at the 2012 edition of the Kathmandu International Art Festival in Nepal. This year’s festival was titled ‘Earth, Body and Mind’ and aimed to educate and make people aware of concerns related to climate change and its impact on human beings and nature, Presstv said. The organizers of the event tried to examine how artists view climate change issues and offer innovative approaches to unite and inspire society. Amani displayed his performance art titled ‘A Requiem for the Earth’, which is a combination of the folk music of the Iranian region of Lorestan with the mourning rites common in the west of the country. Amani’s works have been displayed at several exhibitions including the Iranian Photography Expo, 5th International Competition on Besme Allah, Painting workshop in International Mohamadian Art Festival, and Concerning Angels. Inaugurated in 2009, the Kathmandu International Art Festival is the largest international art event held in Nepal and will be held as a nonprofit festival every three years by the Siddhartha Arts Foundation. | ||
