Iranian Freestyle Wrestlers Win Silver, Bronze Medals at Olympics Iranian freestyle wrestler Sadegh Saeed Goudarzi won the silver medal in the men’s 74-kilogram category at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Iranian lost 3-0 to gold medal winner Jordan Ernest Burroughs of the United States in the final of the category at the Excel Center in London. Goudarzi overpowered Bulgaria’s Kiril Stoychev Terziev 3-1 in his first match before beating Soslan Tigiev of Uzbekistan 3-1 in the quarterfinals. He defeated Gabor Hatos of Hungary 3-0 in the semifinals. Other Iranian wrestlers Ehsan Naser Lashgari and Komeil Qasemi won bronze medals at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Three-time Asian champion Naser Lashgari defeated Turkey's Ibrahim Bolukbasi in men's 84-kilogram freestyle in London to get the bronze. Sharif Sharifov of Azerbaijan won the gold medal in this category and Jaime Yusept Espinal of Puerto Rico won the silver medal. Iran's Qasemi defeated Tervel Ivaylov Dlagnev of the US in men's 120-kilogram freestyle. Artur Taymazov of Uzbekistan won his third successive Olympic gold in the 120-kilogram freestyle wrestling class, beating Davit Modzamanashvili of Georgia in the final match. | ||
