Iranian, Russian Diplomats Meet on Regional Developments Senior Iranian and Russian diplomats in a meeting in Moscow conferred on the two countries’ stances on major regional and international issues. During the meeting, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Mohammad Mehdi Akhoundzadeh and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov exchanged views over various issues, including Tehran’s upcoming negotiations with the Group 5+1 (Britain, China, France, Russia, and the US plus Germany) over Iran’s nuclear program. The two sides also talked about the International conference on a nuclear-free zone in the Middle East, which has been postponed to 2013, as well as the Chemical Weapons Convention. The Iranian official also met head of the Russian delegation in Caspian legal regime talks Igor Bratchikov in Moscow on Thursday, during which, the two sides underlined the necessity for resolving the issues of the Caspian Sea by its littoral states. | |||||||||||
