IRC to Dispatch Humanitarian Aid to Syria Head of Iran’s Red Crescent Society Abolhassan Faqih said Iran will soon dispatch humanitarian aid to Syria. He made the remark in a meeting with Syria’s Health Minister Wael Nader Al-Halki, adding the consignment of humanitarian will include two ambulances and medical supplies, IRNA reported. During the meeting, the Iranian and Syrian officials focused on ways of boosting mutual cooperation. Faqih also referred to the fruitful projects undertaken by Iran’s Red Crescent Society in Syria such as constructing, equipping and staff training of a rehabilitation center in Damascus. He also condemned the terrorist attacks in Syria and said the fact that a number of aid workers lost their lives in the attacks is a source of sorrow for all. According to him, Iran has so far dispatched five aid consignments to Syria. The Syrian minister expressed happiness over the solid and friendly ties between the two countries and stressed his will to promote cooperation with Iran. Pointing to the West’s media and propaganda assault against Syria, he noted that many doctors, nurses and aid workers have so far been targeted by terrorists while terrorist operations have inflicted heavy losses on ambulances and hospitals. | ||
