Iran Kabbadi Wins Gold in 2012 Asian Beach Games The Iranian national kabbadi squad has been crowned champions of the 3rd Asian Beach Games after strolling past Pakistan in the final of the tournament. Iran condemned its powerful opponents to a 39-33 defeat to win the games for the first time. The Iranian team previously trounced Sri Lanka 50-23 to plant the country’s flag in the final of the games. Pakistan landed in the final after edging India 32-30 in the second semifinal of the tournament. Abdolhamid Maghsoodloo coached the Iranian team which comprised of Me’raj Sheikh, Kinaoosh Naderian, Soleiman Pahlevan, Mohammad Maghsoodloo, Farhad Rahimi, and Abbas Krooki. In the 2nd Asian Beach Games, which were held in Muscat, Oman, in December 2010, the Iranian kabbadi team won bronze, after India and Pakistan. The 2012 Asian Beach Games were held in Haiyang, China in late June. | ||
