Iran Wins Asia's Junior Wrestling Championship Iran's wrestling team finished in the first place at the 2012 Asian Junior Freestyle Wrestling Championship, winning one gold, four silver, and three bronze medals. The Iranian team won the Men's Greco-Roman division, held in Kyrgyzstan’s capital of Bishkek, with 78 points. Kazakhstan came second with 76 points, while India finished third with 72 points. The hosts stood fourth with a total of 68 points. For Iran, Ali Asghar Akbari defeated South Korean, Uzbek and Indian wrestlers in the 100kg category and claimed gold. Hossein Shahbazi beat his Tajik opponent and secured the bronze medal in the 85kg weight class. Meanwhile, Ali Moujerlou seized the third bronze for Iran after trouncing Kazakh rival in the 76kg category. Hossein Rouzbeh won the silver in the 63kg category, while Mohammad Samir Yavari grabbed the silver in the 58kg weight class. Ali Mohammadzadeh and Kheirollah Ghahremani collected silver medals in the 42kg and 50kg weight categories respectively, while Amin Khodabakhsh got the bronze in the 46kg class. | ||
