Qajarid Musical Scores Go on Display Iran’s Golestan Palace Museum unveiled a collection of musical scores dating back to the Qajar era. Composed by Austrian musician named Joseph Mauchner, the scores were found in the book ‘Fantasy of a Trip to Europe’ along with French descriptions. The 18-page book is dedicated to Qajarid king Mozaffar Ad-Din Shah (1853-1907). According to Iranian musician and researcher Nader Mashayekhi, the book is one of greatest musical scores in the country, Mehr News Agency reported. Pieces of the collection are composed for piano and based on the route Mozaffar Ad-Din Shah followed during his second trip to Europe, Mashayekhi said during the unveiling ceremony. “The collection had been commissioned by the Shah and the composer seems to have tried to incorporate elements of Persian music into the compositions,” he added. | ||
