Italy’s River Filmfest Awards Iranian Short Film Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Nasiri’s short production was awarded at the 2012 edition of Italy’s River Film Festival held in Padua. Class B won the Best Short Film award of the event, Mehr News Agency reported. Nasiri’s film was awarded for the bright conveyance of the meaning of life, the Iranian Young Cinema Society said in a press release. A total of 12 Iranian films were screened during the festival, including Drivers without Hands by Reza Jamali, Water, River, Life by Hassan Dehqan, The Golestan by Mehdi Tangestani, The Barber by Ali Paknahad, Comma by Ata Mojabi and Comma 2 by Babak Shokri. Organized by the Associazione Culturale Researching Movie in collaboration with the Comune of Padova and DAMS of the University of Padova, the 6th River Film Festival screened short films, animations and documentaries from around the globe. The event presented a selection of shorts from the Royal College of Art London, London Film School, Zelig, Centro Sperimentale della Cinematografia and Svenska Film Institutet among other international cinema schools.
