Iran Olympian Wins Silver in Taekwondo Iranian taekwondo fighter Mohammad Bagheri Motamed won the silver medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games in the men's -68kg final contest. The Iranian missed out on winning the gold after losing 5-6 to Servet Tazegul of Turkey at the Excel Center in London. Bagheri Motamed beat Brazil's Diogo Silva in the semi-finals 5-5 by superiority after defeating Afghanisan’s Rohullah Nikpah 5-4 by sudden death point in quarter-finals. The 26-year-old Iranian world gold medalist in 2009 opened his Olympic debut with a 7-2 victory over David Boui from Central African Republic. The Iranian taekwondo fighter bagged Iran’s fourth silver medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games. | ||
