Iranian Boxer Rouzbahani Fails to Reach Olympics Semifinals Iranian boxer Ehsan Rouzbahani was eliminated in the light heavyweight boxing quarterfinals of the 2012 Olympic Games. Kazakhstan's Adilbek Niyazymbetov defeated Rouzbahani 13-10 and advanced to the semifinals at London’s Excel Arena. The Kazakh started well and managed to get his nose in front by one point at the end of the first round. Niyazymbetov was sent crashing to the canvas in the second round from a thunderous straight left by Rouzbahani. In the third round, Rouzbahani continued to plod forward and pressure Niyazymbetov but the Kazakh hung on to score a 13-10 victory. Rouzbahani defeated his Colombian rival Jeysson Monroy Varela in his first match. He also beat Bahram Muzaffer of Turkey in a round of 16 match. The Iranian was the country’s last representative in the Olympics boxing tournament. | ||
