Iranians Improve Cancer Diagnosis Method
Iranians Improve Cancer Diagnosis Method Iranian researchers from Shiraz University have succeeded in identifying the presence or absence of any of the spot jumps in DNA sequence by designing a method that enables the distinction of all eight possible forms of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). One of the important aspects of the study is that identification of spot jumps in the DNA sequence takes place in one step with significant sensitivity, Fars News Agency reported. Taking into consideration the existing information, no method for the one-step identification of any of the possible spot jumps has so far been presented and the prevalent methods need at least four tests to identify any of the eight possible spot jumps. Therefore, the method presented by Iranian researchers facilitates the identification of SNP. The research has been carried out to design a biosensor for the identification of any of the eight possible SNPs by using only one voltammogram. The proposed method has high potential for the production of a biosensor to diagnose cancer.
