Foreign Trade Exceeds $47b The value Iran’s foreign trade in the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 20) exceeded $47 billion. Based on the report released by Customs Administration of Iran, non-oil exports and imports constituted some 44 percent and 36 percent of figure respectively, IRNA reported. It added that Iran exported 37.456 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $20.618 billion during the period, showing a decline of some 5.66 percent and 4 percent in terms of weight and value respectively compared to the figures for the corresponding period of the preceding year. It added that some 19.121 million tons of commodities, valued at $26.483 billion, were imported to the country during the period. The figures show 7.17 percent rise in terms of weight and 10.30 percent decline in terms of value compared to the figures for the same period last year. It added that some $4.585 billion worth of gas condensates, $5.573 billion worth of petrochemical products and $10.280 billion of other non-oil commodities were exported during the period. Iron and steel ingots, wheat, corn, soya and rice were the main products imported during the period. The report said that liquefied propane, polyethylene film grade and urea fertilizer comprised the main commodities exported. UAE, China, Turkey, South Korea and Switzerland were the top five countries to export their commodities to Iran during the first half of the current year. Iraq, UAE, China, Afghanistan and India were the major destinations for Iran’s exports during the period. | ||
