Tehran, Tashkent Enhance Railroad Cooperation Iran and Uzbekistan enjoy close ties in rail road transportation sector, said the managing director of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways. Speaking at the signing ceremony between Uzbek and Iranian railways organizations, Abdol-Ali Saheb-Mohamamdi urged Uzbek officials to submit their proposals and send their railroad experts to Iran. If Uzbek experts can electrify Iranian railroads sooner and at a more affordable price compared to the Russians, he said, Iran will become eager to cooperate with Uzbeks, Mehr News Agency wrote. The country also appreciates construction of China-Osh railroad between China and Kyrgyzstan, he added. It can be connected to Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Iran railroad, he said, adding it would help boost transit. | ||
