Cannes Market to Offer Iranian Animation on Islam Prophet An Iranian three-dimensional animation on the life of Prophet Muhammmad (PBUH) is programmed to be offered at the 2013 Cannes Film Market.
The animation dubbed Muhammad, the Last Messenger of God will represent its Iranian producer company, Aria Animation Studio. Directed by Kianoush Dalvand, the series was produced in 26 episodes and each episode takes 22 minutes. Some 1750 cartoon characters have been appeared in the production to narrate the story of the animation, explained one of the producing contributors Dariush Dalvand. Written by Kurosh Barzegar, the animation took four years to be produced, he added. Organized by Iran’s Farabi Cinematic Foundation, several other Iranian screen productions in different genres are programmed to be presented at this year’s Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film). The first Iranian 3D cinematic production Mr. A (Aqaye Alef) directed by Ali Atshani is also slated to be presented at the market. The films are programmed to be introduced in public screenings during the market running date. The Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film) is the biggest event in the international film industry and a unique opportunity in which the filmmakers, producers, writers can meet, discover, trade, negotiate, buy, and sell productions of the film industry. Marché du Film was established in 1959 and has been held annually since then, simultaneously with the Cannes Festival. The 2013 Cannes Film Market is scheduled to kick off on May 15 and will run until May 24.
