Iranian Swimmer to Set World Record
Iranian Swimmer to Set World Record Mohammad Kobadi, a member of Iran’s Red Crescent Society, started his marathon swimming across Persian Gulf to convey the message “Persian Gulf Forever” to the world. Kobadi, who is also the head of Iran’s Marine Relief and Rescue Sites, will swim 1,280 kilometers over 100 days. It will be an unassisted solo stage swim, meaning that he will be unassisted by wetsuits, cages, fins, paddles or protective swimwear. Experts from Guinness World Records will be present to register his name in their book of world records. Kobadi, 34, said a team of 25 people, including medical experts and technicians, will accompany him. “Preparations commenced about two years ago and all conditions ranging from weather conditions to technical issues were reviewed,” he said. Kobadi started his unprecedented marathon swim from the Strait of Hormuz to Arvandkenar along the coast of southeastern Iran.
