Iran Wins AFC Dream Asia Cerebral Palsy Tournament in UAE Iran has been crowned champions of the AFC Dream Asia Cerebral Palsy Tournament UAE 2012 after defeating South Korea 2-0 in Abu Dhabi’s Military Forces Stadium. The Iranian seven-a-side team had previously defeated Australia, Singapore, Jordan and the UAE. Australia and Singapore respectively ranked second and third in the tournament, which were held in April 2012. The six-nation competition was the first tournament by the AFC for people with cerebral palsy and is held under Dream Asia, an AFC-led movement that uses football for positive social change. According to AFC Social Responsibility Committee Member Mohammed M Fadel Al Hameli, the main goal of this tournament was to involve disabled people in the community and give them a chance to take part in the social activities through sport in general and football in particular.
