Mahram Clinches Iran Basketball Super League Title Iranian basketball club Mahram claimed the championship of Iran’s Basketball Super League for the fifth time in a row after winning against the Petrochemical of Bandar Imam squad. Mahram beat Petrochemical of Bandar Imam 111-93 in a match played at the Azadi Basketball Hall in Tehran. The club’s coach, Mostafa Hashemi, said after the game that his players were under pressure throughout the match and failed to perform as he wished. However, the team managed to defeat its rival and win the super league title without a loss in its march to the final match, Hashemi added. Mahram basketball club won the 2012 West Asian Champions Cup after winning Lebanon's Al-Riyadi 96-86 in the final match at Azadi Basketball Hall in Tehran. The 2012 West Asian Basketball League was the second season of the modern era of the West Asian Basketball League. The West Asian Basketball League, known as the WABA Champions Cup between 1998 and 2010, is the West Asian club championship, organized by the West Asia Basketball Association every year. The competition also serves as a qualifying tournament for the FIBA Asia Champions Cup. | ||
